The future of the single-family house

This Master's thesis investigates the transformation and densification of single-family house neighborhoods for sustainable living, using Munich's Heimag Siedlung as a case study. It addresses Germany's housing shortage and sustainability challenges by proposing modular remodeling and densification as solutions to revitalize urban residential areas. The research combines structural analysis and homeowner surveys to develop a densification master plan. Aimed at promoting sustainable urban development, this work highlights the need for legal and public awareness strategies to enhance the livability and ecological sustainability of single-family housing areas.
